The P.O.W.E.R. Collaborative Network (PCN) stands for Promoting Opportunities With Essential Resources. Operating mostly from in-kind support and volunteer input, the PCN consistently offers networking for a large variety of socioeconomic service providers throughout the County of Los Angeles.
The PCN was founded in January 2001, by South Los Angeles human service representatives and community outreach specialists. Guided by the spirit and intent of the Workforce Investment Act, they collaborated to more efficiently and effective deliver life needs to ultimately help people to be 100% self.
Overall, the PCN is in place to help emPOWER social services, educational agencies, industry and other vital support services in sharing and sustaining growth opportunities for having a more productive labor market. The PCN stimulates workforce preparation programs to create a more coherent, comprehensive, accountable, and customer-focused business product.
PCN members have an interest to empower the delivery of human services with important information and innovative developments in career, job, and training and other resourceful life needs. The PCN offers industry vital support services and growth opportunities in order to empower people with self-sustaining employment opportunities, while promoting workforce preparation programs to create a more coherent, comprehensive, accountable, and customer-focused business product.
The PCN meets monthly at various member locations with discussions on job recruitment, funding, training, and workforce projects are usual topics in each meeting. A public & private sector empowerment collaboration enhancing the job placement, workforce training, education, & community services for all County of Los Angeles, California residents and business enterprises.
Since its meek beginnings, the PCN has conducted 100+ monthly meetings, three resource fairs, and seven annual awards program all focused on local job recruitment, funding, training, workforce projects, and other topics pertinent to meeting human service needs.
