The PCN was part of a grand presentation on civil service careers, delivered by Viet Hoang, Human Resources Analyst for the City of Torrance. Mr. Hoang discussed the civil service system from its creation through how to locate, apply and interview for various positions. Mr. Hoang gave the PCN members some very useful information to use with their respective clients. Gilda Rodriguez with the Neighborhood Housing and Legal Services, Inc. gave a systematic guide on how to clear an adult criminal record in California. Ms. Rodriguez is very familiar and experienced with the necessary steps to correct records and how-to expunge criminal backgrounds. The PCN attendees each received a booklet detailing the application and procedures. The PCN members want to extend their appreciation to Ms. Rodriguez for giving that extra gracious level of networking support. The Neighborhood Legal Services hotline is (800) 433-6251.
